Day 2: Flight to Kigoma

Today, you'll journey from Dar Es Salaam to Kigoma, located on the western frontier of the country. You could also opt for a serene boat ride on Lake Tanganyika. The following day, prepare for an unforgettable encounter with chimpanzees!

Day 3 - 4: Gombe Stream National Park

Ever dreamt of encountering chimpanzees in their natural habitat? Then, make your way to the Gombe Stream National Park, where Jane Goodall once conducted her groundbreaking behavioral research on chimpanzee communities. Situated along the western border of Tanzania, on the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika, this compact national park is solely accessible by boat. This tour leads you to observe chimpanzee groups climbing trees, playing, or caring for their young!

Day 5 - 6: Mahale National Park

More enchanting encounters with chimpanzees await you at the Mahale Mountains National Park. A 2.5-hour drive and boat ride from Gombe National Park, this park, home to roughly 900 wild chimpanzees, offers a slightly larger expanse. With no roads, your exploration here is on foot. Accompanied by experienced guides, embark on a hike through the mountains in search of chimpanzee groups.
